Police responded to reports of a possible stabbing of a man found collapsed on the steps of a home on the 4800 block of 1st Street N.E. around 3:30 p.m. Monday. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Nearby CCTV captured images of two men thought to have information on the stabbing.

Police also identified the victim of the Highland Park stabbing as Dustin Kusch, 35, of Calgary, following an autopsy. They said Kusch owned a white 2013 Hyundai Elantra with Alberta licence plate BLL-0185, and are looking for help locating the vehicle.

Police said Wednesday a third suspicious death — a 32-year-old man found dead inside his northeast home around 1:30 p.m. Monday — has been deemed non-criminal.

The Calgary police homicide unit is investigating both stabbings. The Highland Park death has been determined to be a homicide, making it Calgary’s 25th of the year. Calgary had 20 confirmed homicides in 2019.
