Which Calgary pharmacies are offering asymptomatic testing for COVID-19?

Alberta Health Services released the list of pharmacies that are offering asymptomatic testing for COVID-19.

Alberta chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced Thursday that the program is now open to any pharmacy that wants to participate and can meet the safety requirements.

“Only people with no symptoms and no known exposure can be tested at a pharmacy,” Hinshaw added. Those with symptoms are asked to book a test through AHS.

The Calgary Board of Education released its school re-entry plan on Thursday morning, and it includes an online option for those who don’t want their kids back in the classroom due to COVID-19.

The CBE will be offering what it calls a hub online learning approach for students from grades 1-12 for the 2020-2021 school year only.

“The hub online approach is a combination of online instruction and independent work and requires a significant commitment from students and parents,” reads the CBE release. “It will not offer the same opportunities or supports as in-person learning.”

Its in-school protocols will include increased cleaning of high touch surfaces, asking students to physically distance where possible and encouraging the use of masks.
